CHINGOLA — National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has told residents of Chingola that the Copperbelt has made its position clear ahead of the August 13 General Election, saying the province is ready for a new direction.

Addressing thousands of supporters at the Copperbelt finale rally held in Chingola on Monday, Mundubile said the turnout and energy on the ground reflected a wider demand for change across the province. He described the gathering as the final message from Copperbelt voters before polling day.

The rally marked the end of a week-long campaign tour on the Copperbelt for the NRPUP and its alliance partners. Crowds filled the venue early, with supporters from Chingola, Chililabombwe, Mufulira, Kalulushi and surrounding areas arriving in buses and on foot.

Speaking to the crowd, Mundubile said the people of Chingola had spoken decisively. He noted that the issues raised most during door-to-door campaigns and community meetings were jobs, mining opportunities for youths, cost of living, and service delivery. According to him, those concerns would form the center of an NRPUP government’s priorities.

He told supporters that the alliance was ready to take on the responsibility of leadership and that the trust placed in the party would be met with commitment. He emphasized that governance would be guided by service, humility and accountability to ordinary citizens. The message was met with cheers and party songs from the audience.

Mundubile also called on supporters to maintain peace and unity in the remaining days before the election. He said the choice of Zambia’s next government would be made at the ballot, and that protecting that process required calm, discipline and respect among all citizens. He urged party agents and voters to turn out in large numbers on August 13 and to ensure that every vote is cast and counted.

The Chingola event capped a busy Copperbelt schedule for NRPUP. Earlier in the week the campaign held rallies in Chililabombwe, Mufulira, Chambishi and Kalulushi. In each town, speakers focused on mining, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities linked to the province’s mineral wealth. Party officials said the response in those areas informed the tone of the final rally in Chingola.

Local organizers said the Copperbelt remains a key battleground in national elections, and Monday’s rally was intended to consolidate support ahead of the vote. Party mobilizers moved through markets, bus stations and residential areas in the days leading up to the event to encourage attendance.

In his address, Mundubile also reflected on the role the Copperbelt has played in shaping national politics over the years. He said the province has consistently influenced the direction of the country and that this election would be no different. He added that the call for change coming from the Copperbelt would resonate in other provinces as campaigns enter their final phase.

Security was provided at the venue, and the program proceeded without major disruption. Vendors, musicians and party cadres added to the atmosphere as supporters waited for the main speakers.

With 16 days to go before Zambians vote, NRPUP said it would shift focus to voter education, agent training, and final community engagements in Lusaka, Southern and Eastern provinces. The party stated that its campaign would continue to highlight jobs, governance reform, and support for small businesses.

As the rally ended, supporters marched through parts of Chingola central carrying party flags and chanting. Many said they were motivated by the promise of new leadership and by the need for practical solutions to daily economic challenges.

The NRPUP campaign team said the Chingola rally gave them confidence heading into the last stretch of the election period, and that the message from the Copperbelt would guide the party’s closing message to voters nationwide.
