The Busoli Royal Establishment (BRE) in Chongwe district has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his victory in the August 13, 2026 general elections.
Speaking in Chongwe, Busoli Royal Establishment representative, Prince Kabwata, said the establishment recognises Mr Hichilema’s victory as a renewed mandate and an expression of confidence entrusted in him by the people of Zambia.
Prince Kabwata said the Royal Establishment remains committed to working with the government in promoting peace, unity and sustainable national development.
He said the establishment looks forward to continued collaboration with the government in advancing development programmes in rural communities and strengthening the partnership between government and traditional leadership.
Prince Kabwata said traditional leaders and the government have an important role to play in fostering peace and creating an enabling environment for communities to participate in national development.
He wished Mr Hichilema continued wisdom, strength and good health as he leads the country.
The prince also urged Zambians to remain united and support efforts aimed at promoting national development.
And in Luangwa district in Lusaka Province, residents have welcomed the re-election of President Hakainde Hichilema, saying he deserves to continue ruling Zambia because of the economic empowerment and national development recorded during his first term of office.
Luangwa District United Party for National Development (UPND) Information and Publicity Secretary, Elias Phiri, says Luangwa has experienced massive development in various sectors in the last five years.
Mr Phiri stated that more development is expected in the second term of Mr Hichilema’s reign.
Speaking in an interview with ZANIS, Mr Phiri called for peace and harmony among residents, stressing that they are key to national development.
“We must work together so that our country can continue to develop and achieve its set goals,” said Mr Phiri.
And Amon Mwanza, a businessperson and beneficiary of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loan, expressed optimism that Luangwa’s developmental agenda will excel under President Hichilema’s second term.
Mr Mwanza attributed his business growth to the expanded CDF, which he said has made it easier for ordinary citizens in Luangwa and other areas across the country to access funding for small enterprises.
“The President has brought development closer to the people and I am happy that I was able to get a loan and grow my business under CDF in the President’s first term,” he noted.
Mr Mwanza expressed hope that more projects will be implemented in Luangwa in the next five years.
Meanwhile, Obert Tembo, a National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) member, urged the President-elect to embrace everyone.
Mr Tembo said violence against each other should not be perpetuated.
