Botswana President Duma Boko, has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, describing the milestone as an important moment for the people of Zambia.

In a congratulatory message, President Boko said Botswana joins the people of Zambia in celebrating President Hichilema’s re-election and expressed confidence that the two countries will continue to strengthen their long standing bilateral relations.

“Zambia and Botswana share deep historical ties, common values and a strong commitment to peace, democracy and regional integration,” President Boko said.

He said Botswana looks forward to further deepening relations with Zambia under President Hichilema’s leadership for the mutual benefit of the people of both countries.
