AUGUSTINE MUKOKA’S DANGEROUS PATH: HIS WAR AGAINST THE ZAMBIA ARMY.

FIRSTLY, there is nothing special about Augustine Mukoka. Yes he is a journalist, now based in the United States. The only thing coming out after much reflection is that this is someone who wants relevance in Zambia. He is trying hard to compensate for his questionable nationality. His Congolese roots haunt him and is always seeking validation.

Mukoka is from DR Congo. Both his parents were Congolese. They are both burried there. His brother Chiko Mukoka has always openly embraced his Congolese heritage. This has been different from August Mukoka who feels he must use every means possible to achieve his goals.

Augustine Mukoka positions himself as an accomplished journalist. Mukoka is in the USA. He is in a self imposed exile. Whilst in his exile, Mukoka’s life has been to extend slander of political opponents to a new level high.

That is nothing new for Augustine. He makes his living through such slander.

Many would still remember that former Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Ponga Liwewe quit his position and involvement in Zambian football in 2018 after a vicious confrontation with Mukoka. Mukoka brought Mr. Liwewe into limelight by accusing him of corruption, misuse of FAZ funds, failing to pay players and referees, poor team results, the Kopa and Mafro jersey scandals and many other wild allegations. He also maligned Mr. Liwewe as being a man who knew nothing about football but feasted on the glory of his father.

Many also remember that Kalusha Bwalya and Augustine Mukoka had an altercation in 2009 in South Africa.

The former Zambian football legend Kalusha Bwalya and Mukoka were involved in a physical altercation and a series of high-profile run-ins over the years.

The 2009 Altercation in South Africa was the most pronounced incident as Kalusha Bwalya slapped Mukoka in December 2009 in Cape Town, South Africa. Following that incident, Mukoka accused Bwalya of assault but Kalusha Bwalya denied beating the journalist, stating that he only pushed him after claiming the reporter’s actions were out of order.

with a journalist whom he ended up slapping. That journalist is Augustine Mukoka. At the peak of the duo’s fight. Mukoka maliciously accused Kalusha Bwalya of spending millions of Kwacha’s on financing his alleged expensive lifestyles in Hotels rather than sports development. Mukoka alleged that Kalusha had seen more prostitutes patronizing his hotel room that accumulated wins for the Zambia National Soccer Team

As recent as 2025 many would remember the bitter fights between former FAZ President Andrew Kamanga and Mukoka. Mukoka accused Mr. Kamanga of several sexual relationships including a lady named Ms Kaleya, with whom he allegedly had a relationship from the time she was 15 years old and fathered 3 children with her

His recent ranting against the Zambia Army Commander, Lt General Geoffrey Zyeele is nothing new. In short, that is the life of Mukoka. He behaves like a pig who loves to play in the thick of dirt. His simple popularity is built around mudslinging people. He is a vampire always after the blood of those who threaten his interest.

Interestingly, his path to take on the Zambia Army is one to watch. The Zambia Army is Zambia’s prime security shield. Its interest is always to secure public interest. Mukoka is taking on the Army to avenge his arrested cousin, Jackson Matyoka who was one of the ex-commanders arrested in the raid at Brian Mundubile’s Kabulonga military base

He has declared his fight against the Zambian Army. But how far can he go? Is he going to bring down the Zambian Army? How far will the Zambian Army watch whilst the Army Commander is disparaged by a simple novice like Mukoka? Will the Zambia Army manage to give lessons to the public using Mukoka as an example?

Whatever happens, Mukoka had no national interest to safeguard through his objectives. His is a personal benefit. On the other hand, the Zambia Army is here to defend all its 21 million Zambians from any threats of military insurgency or foreign invasion. Foreign nationals such as Mukoka are itching to see Zambia burn. His win is in seeing Zambia at war.

Therefore, the Zambia Army’s success in this “war” declared by Mukoka is every Zambia’n win. Mukoka must fall. Mukoka must be found. Mukoka must be given a bitter lesson that would teach all those would be offenders to think twice before taking on such a route.
