Agricrop-sponsored team has emerged winners of the Anglican Church fundraising golf tournament held at the Ndola Golf Club.

‎The team composed of Model Kanyimbo, Rex Mwansa, Mapalo Tanasho and Patrick Kaoma combined for 106 points to win the crown on Sunday.
‎
‎The Church is fundraising to host the upcoming October 2026 Peniel Zambia Conference, a meeting of bishops and worshipers with special speakers expected from countries such as Nigeria and the United States of America.
‎
‎Kanyimbo, Mwansa and Tanasho carded 32, 38 and 36 points respectively as results were picked from the best three players.
‎
‎Team captain Kaoma said his squad was pleased to compete for a noble cause.
‎
‎Kaoma said: _“We want to thank the organisers and the sponsors for coming up with this tournament. This time it is us who won, next time it will be others but they have to come prepared for a tough battle to take this title away from us.”_
‎
‎In second place was the team sponsored by the Zambia Air Force [ZAF] with a score of 104 points thanks to Major Mutambo, Nkrumah Musonda and Mtonga Mtonga who brought home 35, 35 and 34 points respectively.
‎
‎In third place was a team sponsored by the Public Service Pension Fund [PSPF] who finished with 103 points. In individual awards, Samuel Mwaba had the best score of 41 points while Mutambo got the nearest to the pin award.
‎
‎The event was graced by Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Lawrence Mwanza who donated K10,000 towards the fundraising venture.
‎
‎Mwanza said: “When we come together to support a good cause, our collective efforts create opportunities that can benefit a lot of people.”
‎
‎Meanwhile, Anglican Diocese of Central Zambia Bishop Emmanuel Chikoya said part of the raised money will go towards helping vulnerable children in school and health.
‎
‎Tournament Organising Committee Chairperson Ernest Sumani said they had targeted to raise about K600,000 but did not reach the target.
‎
‎Sumani said: “I must honestly acknowledge that we did not reach our original target. However, I want to emphasise that this does not diminish the success of this tournament.”
