A SHORT MORNING POEM TO MY SHEPHERD ALICK 

A religious leader, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Alick Banda stands firm in truth while facing harsh persecution and cruel mockery.

The Trial of Faith
He raised the lamp of sacred law,
And spoke of peace in darkened lands.
The angry crowds and rulers saw,
And bound him with unkindly bands.
They made him sleep in jail, in Chimbokaila.

They mocked his words and scorned his name,
And tried to dim his steady light.
Yet through the trials and burning shame,
His soul remained as pure as white.
The incarceration in Chimbokaila may bruise the mortal frame,
And shadows try to close the door

But truth will live beyond the blame,
And shine as bright as shone before.
