4,000 Kalumbila, Solwezi youths to benefit from Netherlands, Sweden support

 THE Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) with support from the Swedish Embassy and other partners is implementing a Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Project aimed at empowering youths in Solwezi and Kalumbila.

SNV Youth and Entrepreneurship Project Manager Robinson Nyirenda explained that the project, which started in 2025 targets to empower 4,000 youths in Solwezi and Kalumbila.

He said  this when he led a delegation comprising of teams from Swedish Embassy and SNV that paid a courtesy call on North-Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Luckson Mulumbi.

Mr Nyirenda observed that the project aims to improve livelihoods and prospects of youths through skills development, opportunity linkages and creating an enabling business environment.

And North-Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Luckson Mulumbi explained that the project is a plus as it aligns with this government’s agenda of creating employment through empowerment opportunities.

Mr Mulumbi also stressed the need to ensure the project also helps to promote mindset change among youths if projects by the government and its cooperating partners are to have a positive impact.
