As the appointed Caterpillar dealer in the region, Barloworld Equipment supplies equipment, parts and service to customers in the mining, construction, handling, agricultural and energy industries. Barloworld Equipment Zambia Limited is looking for suitably qualified individuals based on the requirements stated below to apply for the position of: SENIOR SECURITY SITE SUPERVISOR LUSAKA Job Purpose To develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive security and asset protection framework across Barloworld Equipment Zambia operations. The role protects employees, customers, inventory, equipment, facilities, information and customer property, through effective physical security controls, risk management, investigations, compliance monitoring, contractor oversight and emergency response. The incumbent provides operational leadership while supporting governance, loss prevention and business continuity objectives. Key Outputs (include but are not limited to) 1. Site Leadership and Supervision • Manage day-to-day site security operations and maintain a professional, disciplined and visible security presence.• Supervise, guide and monitor all on-site Security Officers to ensure consistent performance, discipline and compliance with site requirements.• Ensure all posts are adequately manned, officers remain alert, and guards stay at their posts until properly relieved.• Coordinate timely relief arrangements, shift handovers and daily postings to maintain uninterrupted site coverage.• Train and assess new officers on site instructions, access controls, standing orders, emergency procedures and Barloworld Equipment Zambia SOPs. 2. Security Risk Management and Assurance • Conduct periodic security risk assessments, vulnerability reviews and site inspections covering warehouses, workshops, yards, offices, fuel storage, IT infrastructure and high-value equipment.• Maintain a security risk register, assign mitigating actions and monitor closure of identified control gaps.• Coordinate security audits and provide evidence and corrective-action updates for internal audit, external audit and management reviews.• Recommend proportionate physical, procedural and technology-based improvements to reduce exposure. 3. Asset Protection and Loss Prevention • Develop and implement controls to prevent theft, fraud, inventory shrinkage, fuel losses, vandalism, unauthorized use of assets and removal of company or customer property.• Support wall-to-wall stock counts, cycle counts and investigations into inventory variances or suspected collusion.• Monitor access to warehouses, workshops, yards and restricted areas, including movement of parts, tools, components and machines.• Analyze loss trends and incidents and implement preventive measures with operational management. 4. Incident Management and Investigations • Assume immediate command of security incidents until formally handed over to the appropriate executive or emergency authority.• Report material breaches or incidents promptly, with initial notification immediately and a written preliminary report within 24 hours.• Conduct fair, confidential and evidence-based investigations, including preservation of CCTV footage, documents, access records, witness statements and exhibits.• Prepare investigation reports suitable for management, disciplinary or law-enforcement processes and track corrective actions to closure. 5. Security Systems and Technology • Oversee CCTV, alarms, access control, intrusion detection, visitor management, vehicle tracking and related security systems.• Review CCTV footage for investigations and control verification while maintaining confidentiality and evidence integrity.• Ensure routine testing, preventive maintenance and timely repair of security systems, with target availability monitored and reported.• Test armed-response providers and document response times, outcomes and corrective actions. 6. Contractor and Stakeholder Management • Manage guarding, armed-response and other security service providers against approved contracts, service-level agreements and deployment standards.• Review contractor licensing, vetting, training, attendance, equipment, incident performance and invoice accuracy.• Maintain professional liaison with law enforcement, emergency services, landlords, customers and relevant authorities.• Escalate repeated contractor failures and recommend corrective, commercial or disciplinary action where appropriate. 7. Governance, Compliance and Reporting • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethics requirements, anti-bribery and fraud controls, access procedures and applicable legal requirements.• Maintain complete and accurate occurrence books, incident registers, visitor records, key registers, system test records and investigation files.• Provide daily situational updates as required and submit a consolidated monthly security performance report to management.• Treat personal information, CCTV records and investigation material as confidential and restrict access to authorized persons. Minimum Required Qualifications • Full Grade 12 certificate.• Diploma or degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, Military Science or a related discipline.• Minimum seven years of relevant security experience, including at least five years in a supervisory or management capacity.• Multi-site, industrial, mining, logistics, warehouse or heavy-equipment experience is strongly preferred.• Relevant professional security or risk certification is advantageous. The successful candidate must satisfy company background screening and integrity requirements.• Proven capability in physical security, investigations, loss prevention, contractor management, access control, emergency response and security technology.• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel between Barloworld Equipment Zambia locations and respond to material incidents outside normal working hours when required.• Strong report-writing, data analysis and Microsoft Office skills, with working knowledge of CCTV, access-control and incident-management systems. Competencies • Highly organised and efficient.• Must have the ability to be professional and courteous.• Must have the ability to work in a team.• Strong sense of discretion.• Ability to prioritize.• Excellent written and communication skills (report writing ability).• Proficiency with MS Office & Computer literate.• Ability to work independently & with little supervision.• Have knowledge of a security evacuation plan.• Manage guard rosters.• CCTV and control room knowledge.• Physical security experience and knowledge.• Risk audit ability.
