Position Overview for Packing Machine Attendant Jobs in Lusaka The successful candidate will be responsible for the seamless operation of the cream sandwiching unit and flow wrap machine, ensuring accurate product alignment, proper sealing, and minimal wastage. This role demands strong coordination with upstream baking operations and effective management of packing helpers to maintain continuous production flow and uphold strict GMP standards. Start up and calibrate the cream sandwiching and flow wrap machines at the beginning of each shift. Ensure smooth handover to the next shift operator to avoid production gaps. Maintain consistent biscuit alignment and cream dosing with biscuit wastage below 2% and wrapper wastage below 2%. Manage manpower efficiently, coordinating breaks to prevent idle time at the machine. Collaborate closely with oven operators to ensure timely biscuit feed and communicate any shell defects promptly. Perform real-time visual and weight inspections on finished packs to verify count accuracy, seal integrity, and batch/date coding. Lead packing helpers to achieve zero short filling and accurate master carton printing. Record daily production outputs, downtime, wastage causes, and machine changeovers. Conduct routine cleaning of machine components to prevent contamination and buildup. Maintain hygiene standards around the machine and enforce personal hygiene among helpers. Report mechanical issues promptly and assist with basic troubleshooting, including cutter replacement and seal adjustments. Qualifications and Skills Required for Packing Machine Attendant Jobs in Lusaka Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. At least 3 years of experience operating biscuit sandwiching or horizontal flow wrap machines. Basic mechanical knowledge of gear trains, alignment systems, and sealing mechanisms. Strong visual inspection skills with a keen eye for product quality and aesthetics. Proven ability to lead a small team of packing helpers effectively. Familiarity with GMP, hygiene, and food safety standards. Physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
