POSITION: Packaging Team Leader – Lusaka & Kitwe Overview National Breweries PLC – Zambia’s premier producer and distributor of Traditional African Beer, affiliated with Delta Beverages. About the Role National Breweries PLC is seeking a highly motivated, safety-conscious and results-oriented Packaging Team Leader to lead packaging operations, drive operational excellence, and achieve production, quality, cost and safety targets. Key Responsibilities Lead packaging operational teams to achieve production performance targets. Coordinate and execute production plans and monitor line performance. Monitor machine efficiency, downtime, losses and stock reconciliation. Drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives. Promote compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards. Facilitate team meetings, employee development and performance management. Ensure proper administration and reporting systems are maintained. Build and maintain positive industrial relations and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 Certificate. Degree in Engineering or related field. 2–3 years relevant experience in a beverage, packaging, FMCG or manufacturing environment. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Good interpersonal skills and team player. Effective communicator, sober minded, hardworking and possessing problem-solving skills. Sound knowledge of packaging processes and operations within a beverage or FMCG manufacturing environment. Good understanding of packaging equipment including fillers, cappers, labellers and associated utilities. Ability to monitor production performance using FE, ME, downtime and loss KPIs. Working knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, Quality Standards and HACCP requirements. Knowledge of autonomous maintenance principles and equipment defect escalation. Understanding of safety management systems, hazard identification, risk assessment and permit-to-work requirements. Ability to interpret production plans, SOPs and technical documentation. Proficiency in root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone Analysis. Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage. Strong planning, coordination, leadership and communication skills.
