New Job Opportunity: Experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics Position Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Company: JVChantete Earthworks Ltd Locations: Kansanshi, Kalumbila, and Mufulira JVChantete Earthworks Ltd is seeking skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join its maintenance team supporting mining operations across Zambia. Summary Key Responsibilities – Carry out inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy mobile equipment. – Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on equipment. – Execute planned maintenance and breakdown repairs efficiently. – Conduct component change-outs in line with OEM standards. – Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and to required standards. – Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately. – Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure equipment availability. Key Competencies – Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. – Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. – High level of reliability, discipline, and accountability. – Good understanding of safety standards and procedures. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team. – Willingness to work shifts and site-based schedules. Minimum Qualifications and Experience – Craft Certificate, Advanced Craft Certificate, Trade Test Certificate Grade I-III, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Heavy Equipment Engineering, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Equipment or Diesel Mechanics. – Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience working on heavy mining or earth-moving equipment. – Strong experience working with equipment such as Komatsu excavators, dozers, and dump trucks, and CAT 777 trucks or similar equipment. – Sound knowledge of planned maintenance systems and breakdown repairs.
