A ZNBC journalist has been arrested and charged for allegedly recording a private conversation without notifying those involved.

Police said MacPherson Mukuka, 37, between July 14 and July 17, 2026, used the Facebook page “Earth Television Zambia” to publish an article containing an audio recording of a private meeting involving several individuals.

Police spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said it is alleged the conversation was recorded without the participants’ prior notice and was later published on the same Facebook page. The offence falls under Section 10 of the Cyber Crimes Act No. 4 of 2025.

“Following police investigations, the suspect has been formally charged and arrested. He remains in police custody and is expected to appear before court,” Chilabi said.
