In a statement Saturday, ZNBC said both officers dedicated more than 30 years of service to the national broadcaster and made “immense contributions to the growth of Zambia’s media landscape.”
ZNBC said both men voluntarily submitted applications for early retirement in 2025. The corporation said the process was “completely normal and fully compliant” with Zambian labor laws and ZNBC conditions of service.
Under ZNBC rules, employees may opt for voluntary early retirement at age 55, or standard retirement at 60. Management formally approved the applications following standard administrative timelines.
“The Management and Staff of ZNBC extend their deepest gratitude to Mr. Innocent Kalaluka and Mr. Franklin Tembo Jnr for their decades of selfless service, professional dedication, and mentorship to younger generations of broadcasters,” the statement said.
ZNBC wished them “the very best in their future endeavors and well-deserved retirement.”
This is according to a press statement issued by Yvette Chanda, Head – Corporate Affairs, ZNBC
