Zesco Ndola Girls coach Florence Mwila says her side is ready to face any opponent in the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League | COSAFA Qualifier Botswana 2026.

The Ndola-based Zambian champions booked their semi-final spot in style, securing top spot in Group A with a 2-0 victory over hosts Gaborone United at the Gaborone United Stadium on Monday evening.

Zesco finished Group A with maximum 9 points from 3 games: following victories over Lesotho Defence Force (1-0) and Zimbabwe’s Herentals Queens (5-2).

After the win over the hosts, Mwila praised her team’s response.

“It is sweet three points. We are here to play the game. We knew we were facing a tough opponent, so we needed to improve in relation to the approach,” Mwila said.

The Ndola Girls are likely to face either Silver Strikers of Malawi or Mozambique’s Costa do Sol from Group B in the last four.

But Mwila insists there are no favourites.

“There are no preferences, we play any team that come our way. We are prepared. This is a tournament so you meet any opponent and you must be prepared,” she told journalists in Gaborone.

Group B concludes action on Tuesday evening.

Mamelodi Sundowns leads with 6 points, followed by Silver Strikers and Costa do Sol on 3 points each. Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini are bottom with no points.

Zesco were runners-up last year after losing to Gaborone United in the final of the regional champions league.

This year, they have already beaten GU in the group stage and will be hoping to go one step further and qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League finals.
