Popular musician Obed Chileshe stage name Chile One Mr Zambia has revealed that his lavish wedding, which has dominated social media conversations, cost between K600,000 and K700,000 and was organised in just one month.

Speaking to Zambian Business Times-ZBT, Chile One said although he and his wife had discussed getting married after welcoming their baby, their busy schedules delayed the plans until he made a last-minute decision.

“Approximately, I can say somewhere at K600,000 to K700,000,” he said when asked about the cost of the ceremony.

The singer explained that with an album, tour and other commitments ahead, he realised he had little time left and decided to bring the wedding forward.

“Last month I just said, next month we’re having a wedding,” he said.

According to Chile One, the announcement even caught his wife by surprise.

“She was even surprised. She was like, ‘No.’ I told her, ‘Don’t worry, I got you.'”

Chile One said the success of the event came down to a committed team that managed to pull everything together within the limited timeframe.
