Vice President, Mutale Nalumango has called on the clergy to continue praying and offering spiritual counsel to political leaders for the betterment of the country.

Speaking when she addressed the Clergy in Mporokoso District, Mrs Nalumango said the clergy must offer spiritual guidance in an effort to foster peace and unity in the country.

She noted that it is impossible to achieve any form of development without unity hence the need for the clergy to continue being spiritual gatekeepers to political leaders.

Mrs Nalumango stated that she also seeks God’s intervention daily for the wellbeing of the nation.

She further said the clergy should continue praying for the peace that Zambia has continued to enjoy.

And speaking earlier, Mporokoso District Pastor’s fellowship Chairperson, Mulenga Chansa said the clergy will always support the government of the day and pledged to work with the current government.

Reverend Mulenga commended government for the economic strides gained so far as well as championing peace in the country.

He has, however, also called on the government to work on the concerns raised on unfinished infrastructure, especially roads linking the district to other areas.
