Zambia : Truck Parking Bay Commissioned In Kasenengwa
Lusaka - Zambia: Government has commissioned a truck parking bay valued at over K2.1 Million in Kasenengwa District of Eastern Province.

The project which is located near the recently commissioned fuel depot, aims at boosting the local authority’s revenue collection base among other benefits.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Nicholas Phiri, says the move has been necessitated through the Zambia Devolution Support Programme.
Mr Phiri explained that the project is aimed at uplifting the livelihoods of people in rural areas.
“This project aims at uplifting rural communities like Kasenengwa, by presenting them with equal opportunities,” he said.
And Kasenengwa District Commissioner, Rachael Phiri, said the move will help to provide a secure parking space for drivers among other benefits.
Ms Phiri further pledged the government’s commitment to enhancing the safety of truck drivers as well as the vehicles.
“We are deeply grateful for your leadership and the support evidenced by such projects like the parking bay,” she said.
And, Kasenengwa Town Council Secretary, Lynda Mapara, represented by Director Human Resource, Fredrick Peneshi, observed that the move will boost revenue collection for the local authority.
Meanwhile, Headman Kapachika called on the local authority not to relent in developing rural areas.
“As traditional leaders, we are encouraged to avail land for such development. We know our people are the main beneficiaries,” he said.
