ZAMBIA Sugar Plc has committed to making a significant contribution towards the national target of producing one million tonnes of sugar under the Grow Zambia Agenda.
Company corporate affairs director Eugene Chungu said the sugar target will also enable the company to align its production plans with the aspirations of Government, local and international stakeholders.
Mr Chungu said this when he handed over a K350,000 contribution, as a partner sponsor, towards the 16th annual Manufacturers’ Month.
The event is under the theme “Towards Vision 2030: Resurgent manufacturing for a prosperous and inclusive economy”.
Activities lined up include an energy conference, exhibitions, charity activities, a family fun day and a gala dinner.
Mr Chungu said Zambia Sugar’s operations are closely linked to the manufacturing sector through sugar agro processing, which has been identified as a key area under the Grow Zambia Agenda.
Zambia Association of Manufacturers board trustee Peter Cottan said Zambia Sugar has gone beyond primary agricultural production by processing sugar cane into finished products. https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
