Nkana Football Club legend Ronald “Sate Sate” Kampamba has retired from active football for the second time.

‎The club on Thursday announced that the Super League star is taking up the role of strikers coach on the Nkana technical bench.

‎Kampamba first retired in August 2024 before rescinding his decision six months later after being persuaded by Coach Mwenya Chipepo. He featured in a few games in the just-ended 2025/2026 season for Kalampa.

‎“Nkana Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of former striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba as the club’s strikers coach, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in the Kalampa legend’s football journey,” the club confirmed in a statement.

‎“A familiar face to the Nkana faithful, Kampamba transitions from the pitch to the technical bench after a distinguished playing career that saw him become one of the club’s most admired forwards. His appointment reflects Nkana FC’s continued commitment to nurturing home-grown talent and preserving the club’s rich football heritage by integrating former players into the technical set-up,” the club stated.

‎At his peak, Kampamba won the Super League title twice with his boyhood club Nkana. He also won the Super League golden boot twice.

‎In 2015, the striker had unsuccessful stints at Egyptian side Wadi Degla and Belgian club Lierse SK.

‎Locally, Kampamba played only for Nkana and Kansanshi Dynamos after being groomed by Kitwe Soccer Academy.

‎He earned 11 caps for the Chipolopolo.
