Zambia and Mozambique last night concluded the Senior Officials meeting of the 14th Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) on Defence and Security for the two countries.
The meeting, which brought together high-level officials from both countries, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in defense and security matters.
The Chairman of the Senior Officials meeting, who is also Mozambique Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of National Defence, Victor Canhemba exchanged gifts with his co-chair, Zambia Air Force Commander, Oscar Nyoni.
This is contained in a press statement issued to the media by Ministry of Defence Principal Public Relations Officer, Paul Shalala.
Mr Shalala disclosed that later last night, Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Director of Research and Planning, Goodson Sinyenga, also exchanged tokens of goodwill with Mr Canhemba in a symbolic gesture.
He added that the Senior Officials meeting culminated into the Ministerial meeting, which is taking place today, where senior ministers from the two countries will discuss further collaboration.
This ongoing engagement underscores the strong bilateral cooperation between Mozambique and Zambia, particularly in the areas of defence and internal security, as both countries work towards enhanced regional stability and cooperation.
Leading the Zambian delegation is Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary, Maambo Haamaundu.
