Mr Hichilema pointed out that re-electing the UPND and him as President will ensure continuity of various development projects and programs being undertaken in the district and the country as a whole.
Speaking in Chembe District during a public engagement at Chembe Secondary School, the President pledged to construct a District Hospital that will be critical to enhance quality healthcare services to the growing population of the district.
The President committed to expedite the completion of the Chembe Boarding Secondary School which is under construction and pledged to construct a full-fledged skills training centre in the area.
Mr Hichilema stated that the upgrading of the Chembe-Pedicle Road is a priority on the development agenda.
“The upgraded pedicle road will enhance trade between Zambia and the neighboring countries like the DRC,” Mr Hichilema said.
And the Head of State said Chembe District was endowed with resources stating that his Administration will ensure attraction of investments especially in the tourism, mining and agriculture sectors to create jobs for the people among them youths.
He added that more beneficiaries will be added on the Farmer Input support Program-FISP to increase crop production for the nation’s strategic food reserves.
” The social cash transfer has been increased from K800 to K1000 and now I’m directing that more beneficiaries be added on the program in Chembe District to include eligible beneficiaries who have been left out on the program,” Mr Hichilema said.
The President also made a commitment to working on feeder roads in Chembe among others the Chipete to Kalasakando road to ease the movement of people and goods.
The President also committed to ensure that the crossing points at Mwami and Pandwe are fully upgraded.
Meanwhile UPND Parliamentary Candidate for Chembe Constituency Cliff Mpundu called on Chembe residents to turn up in numbers to give President Hichilema and the UPND another five-year mandate.
