Feira Constituency in Luangwa District has received ballot papers ahead of the General Election taking place on Thursday, 13thAugust, 2026.

Acting District Electoral Officer Paul Siyanga confirmed receiving one pallet of ballot papers at 21:53 hours yesterday, whose delivery was witnessed by stakeholders before the materials were secured in the strong room upon arrival.

Mr Siyanga, who is standing in for District Electoral Officer Greyson Sakala, explained that the ballot papers were received intact without any breakage on the seals and locks.

“I can assure the public that all stakeholders witnessed the arrival of the ballot papers and that they have been secured amidst tight state security of the Zambia Police until 13th August, 2026,” he explained.

Mr Siyanga thanked the stakeholders for a peaceful process of receiving the ballot papers and urged them to maintain this peace and order exhibited before, during and after the elections.

Socialist Party District Campaign Manager Canaan Mukanka appreciated the professionalism exhibited by the Electoral Commission of Zambia during the exercise.

Mr Mukonka explained that the tight security by the Zambia Police played a key role in ensuring that the ballot papers are not tampered with during transportation from Lusaka to Luangwa.

And National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) District Chairperson Obert Tembo expressed satisfaction with the way the Electoral Commission of Zambia handled the stakeholders at the civic centre.

Mr Tembo explained that the stakeholders were given ample time to inspect anything they felt needed to be checked for transparency purposes.

“We just had a concern as stakeholders on the safety of the strong room provided for the safe keeping of the ballot papers but we have been assured that tight security will be provided,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, United Party for National Development (UPND) District Youth Chairperson Kelly Kasongole said his party has confidence in the Electoral Commission of Zambia.

“We are not worried about the safety of the ballot papers because we believe in a transparent and professional process where no one can tamper with the election materials,” Mr Kasongole explained.
