“WHAT WILL I TELL MY WIFE”, DRIVER CRIES AFTER TOYOTA AURIS OVERTURNS AT WULONGO

“What will I tell my wife?” these were the words heard from the driver and owner of a Toyota Auris, registration number AIG 5986, after the vehicle overturned along the Great North Road, in the early hours of today  at Wulongo area in Nakonde District.

The accident reportedly happened around 04:00 hours as the vehicle was travelling from north to south

In the first five seconds of a video captured at the scene, the driver is seen crying uncontrollably while saying, What will I tell my wife.

According to an eyewitness spoken to by Chete FM at the scene, the driver was trying to avoid a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction when the vehicle veered off the road and hit iron barrier bars, causing it to overturn.

The vehicle is suspected to have travelled from Isoka, although this has not yet been confirmed.

The exact number of people who were in the vehicle remains unclear, as some occupants reportedly ran away from  the scene.

Meanwhile, just a few kilometres from the accident spot, another accident was reported near Comfort area last evening, where a canter truck reportedly hit a pedestrian, seriously injuring him.
