UPND’s Chasha wins Chongwe West by 355 votes

UPND candidate Martin Chasha has been declared duly elected Member of Parliament for Chongwe West Constituency after polling 12,399 votes. Returning Officer Morris Moono announced the results at the totalling centre. Dr. Chasha defeated NRPUP candidate Sydney Makefuwa who polled 12,044 votes, a margin of just 355 votes. Dr. Chasha defeated NRPUP candidate Sydney Makefuwa who polled 12,044 votes, a margin of just 355 votes.

Other candidates: Alexious Mulemba 2,922; Independent Bernadette Deka 1,939; Independent Cholwe Nkomeshya 892; Independent Vunda Kachele 447; Independent Lee Lwando 371; Socialist Party’s Brian Hapunda 363; Independent Chaloba Mwila 270; Citizen Party’s Lee Mtonga 239; and Independent Osward Chulu 78.
