Zambia Police Service Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha, said the incident was reported to Lubwa Police Station on Wednesday, 19th August, 2026, at around 11:00 hours by Patricia Mulenga of Chalala.
Ms. Mulenga told police she went to take a shower and upon returning to her bedroom found two individuals inside. Police identified the suspects as Nsanda Phiri and Natasha Chanda.
“The male suspect was allegedly found sleeping on the bed, while the female suspect was reportedly attempting to undress. Both individuals appeared to be under the influence of alcohol,” the statement said.
Ms. Mulenga said the two appeared surprised when questioned about their presence. Police were called to the scene and apprehended the suspects.
The two have since been charged with criminal trespass and released on police bond pending court appearance.
Police reminded members of the public “to respect the property, privacy and lawful rights of others” and to “refrain from unlawfully entering or remaining on premises without the consent or lawful authority of the occupant.”
