State House Chief Communication Specialist, Clayson Hamasaka, has called for peace, tolerance, and honest leadership ahead of this year’s General Elections.

Mr Hamasaka emphasised that peace must be maintained through the final hours following this week’s General Election.

He highlighted that every human life is precious and stressed that any calls for taking of a human life should be treated with the gravity they deserve by all political parties.

Mr Hamasaka expressed concern over a recent incident involving former Nkana Member of Parliament, Binwell Mpundu, and Tonse Alliance President Brian Mundubile, describing them as troubling.

“Zambians are watching a leadership that cannot give straight answers about language touching on human life,” he stated.

Mr Hamasaka condemned the remarks, noting that they were initially blamed on Artificial Intelligence (AI) before an acknowledgment was made.

He urged that this is not a time for political games or contradictory explanations but a moment for political leaders to reject inflammatory language and ensure no citizen is put in danger for political gain.

“The 2026 General election will be peaceful because the Zambian people have chosen peace,” he affirmed.
