SPAIN REPORTEDLY APPROVES INVESTMENT IN IRAN DESPITE U.S. PRESSURE
Iran says Spain, under Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, has approved a new investment project in the country despite U.S. calls for allies and other nations to increase economic pressure and isolate the Islamic Republic.
According to Iran’s IRNA news agency, a first foreign investment license has reportedly been issued in South Khorasan Province to a Spanish investor for a project focused on mining and mineral processing.
The provincial Director-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, Morteza Zakerian, reportedly confirmed the issuance of the investment permit.
The reported development could signal continued European commercial interest in Iran despite Washington’s efforts to maintain economic pressure on Tehran.
⚠️ The investment details and its financial value were not specified in the report cited by IRNA.
