Dr. Namani Monze, Permanent Secretary for Southern Province, has died at age 52.

According to a government press statement issued Tuesday, Monze died July 28, 2026, at Choma General Hospital after an illness.

Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick K. Kangwa announced the death on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Zambia.

Funeral and burial arrangements will be announced later, the statement said.
