THE seditious practices case against Tonse Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu failed to take off Friday before the Solwezi Magistrate’s Court.

The two appeared before Magistrate Mambwe Mukonde for plea, but the court could not proceed after Mundubile informed the court that his lawyers were not present.

Magistrate Mukonde granted the application for adjournment and set Oct. 5 as the new date for plea.

Mundubile and Zulu are jointly charged with seditious practices in Solwezi, a bailable offense under the Penal Code.

The Solwezi case is separate from the treason matter in which the duo are listed among 18 accused persons alleged to be linked to a militia group following the Aug. 13 general elections. The treason charge will be heard in the High Court.
