SADC Congratulates Hichilema on Election Victory

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema following his victory in Zambia’s 2026 general elections.

In a message issued on Tuesday, SADC extended its congratulations to Hichilema on his election as the seventh President of the Republic of Zambia following the general elections held on August 13, 2026.

The regional bloc’s message was published on its official social media platforms, adding to a growing number of congratulatory messages from regional and international stakeholders following the election.

Hichilema was declared the winner of the presidential election after securing a second term in office. The Zambian Government has described the result as a decisive victory, with Hichilema securing another five-year mandate.
