NATIONAL Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) President Ezra Tembo has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his election victory after defeating the party’s candidate Brian Mundubile.

Mr. Tembo said NRPUP accepts the outcome of the August 13 general elections and urged all party members and supporters to respect the results and maintain peace and unity. “We urge all Zambians to give President Hichilema and the UPND space to work as we continue to offer checks and balances,” Mr. Tembo said. He said NRPUP would continue to provide checks and balances and advocate for good governance. He described the party as the “official opposition” committed to serving the interests of Zambians. “Democracy is about respecting the will of the people.
