A FIERCE political storm has erupted following claims by opposition leader Brian Mundubile that a controversial viral video featuring Binwell Mpundu was entirely fabricated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Mr Mundubile moved quickly to defend the former lawmaker, asserting that Mr. Mpundu could not have uttered such damaging words given his party’s deep-rooted respect for democratic processes.

However, political analysts and information technology specialists have swiftly dismantled this defense, labeling the opposition’s damage-control efforts as a outright ‘blue lie’

Technical experts who scrutinised the high-definition footage confirmed that the video bears no hallmarks of a deepfake or AI manipulation.

Specialists pointed to distinct, real-time physical markers within the clip—most notably the clear, moving reflection of a smartphone screen captured in Mr Mpundu’s eyeglasses—which they say would be nearly impossible to synthetically replicate with such fluid, organic accuracy.

As debate rages over the clip’s contents, critics argued that blaming AI had become a convenient shield for politicians looking to escape accountability for public gaffes.

The opposition now faces intense pressure to address the substance of the video rather than dismissing it as a technological hoax.
