Middle East Conflict Enters Full-Scale Regional War, Iran Declares

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that Iran is now in a state of “full-scale war,” as fighting expands across multiple fronts in the Middle East.

The conflict has widened beyond direct U.S.-Iran exchanges, with Iran launching ballistic missiles and drones toward U.S. and allied positions, while the Houthi movement in Yemen has announced a maritime blockade targeting Saudi-linked shipping through the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, opening another front in the regional crisis.

At the same time, the United States has continued its air campaign against targets inside Iran, while military activity has intensified across the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.

While the conflict has clearly escalated, whether it is formally classified as a “full-scale war” depends on the criteria used by governments, militaries, and international observers. Different parties may characterize the conflict differently.
