NEVERS: MAKEBI IS AN INTELLIGENT LAWYER, HIS GIFT CAME TO LIGHT BECAUSE OF ME

FATHER of the nation Pastor Nevers Mumba says he is praying for NRPUP president Brian Mundubile and lawyer Makebi Zulu, despite believing that they must account for their purported actions linking them to a claim of the existence of armed militia.

Pastor Mumba who is former republican vice President says he discovered Makebi Zulu and appointed him as his lawyer to help handle his Canada case, claiming that it was through the case that Makebi’s legal talent came to prominence.

He describes Makebi as an intelligent and very good lawyer, recalling how former President Rupiah Banda noticed him while he was defending Mumba in court.

“Makebi was my young lawyer. I found him from somewhere and made him my lawyer. After that, he went into prominence out of my case from Canada,” Mumba says.

Mumba says President Banda later asked who the young lawyer was and whether he could also use him for his cases.

“I told him, he is Makebi. He asked me, can I also use him for my cases? I said yes, sir,” he says.

According to Mumba, when President Banda brought Makebi onto his team, the young lawyer’s career “soared” because of his abilities.

“So when the President [Banda] brought him onto his team, he soared because he is an intelligent guy. Very good lawyer,” Mumba says.

He, however, says his familiarity with the two men does not prevent him from calling for accountability.

“I know these people. So we pray for them. But that does not mean they are not supposed to account for what they have done,” Mumba remarks.

Mumba said this during an Interview on Prime TV’s “Day Break Breakfast Show”, with Paul Shingongo.
