Zambian music star Macky 2 has broken his silence following his unsuccessful parliamentary bid in Nchanga Constituency, saying he trusts God’s plan despite the disappointment of the election outcome.

In an emotional message shared on social media, the award-winning artist, whose real name is Mulaza Kaira, reflected on the election and expressed gratitude to his campaign team and supporters.

The musician admitted that he does not fully understand God’s timing but said he remains confident that every setback in his life eventually leads to something better.

“I really do not understand God’s timing right now, but I trust Him completely. His plan over my life always turns out better than what I initially want all the time. I believe with my whole heart that this is just a redirection or simply a delay,” Macky 2 wrote.

The artist, who contested the Nchanga parliamentary seat, also thanked his campaign team, describing them as the backbone of his campaign.

According to Macky 2, the dedication and sacrifices made by his team kept him motivated throughout the campaign.

“Your sacrifice, your early mornings, your late nights and your unwavering belief in me are what kept me going. This journey was beautiful because of you,” he said.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Macky 2 encouraged his supporters not to lose hope, reminding them that public service is not limited to holding political office.

He emphasized that his campaign had always been driven by a desire to serve people and improve communities rather than simply securing a political title.

“Our mission was never just about a title. It was about service. If the plan was to develop our communities, then there are still countless ways we can do that, with or without a seat in Parliament,” he said.

The rapper, songwriter and businessman also called on his supporters to continue working for the benefit of local communities.
“Let’s not give up on our people now. The work continues,” he added.

In a move that has attracted widespread praise on social media, Macky 2 extended his congratulations to Rosemary Chipoya, who emerged ahead in the parliamentary race.
He described Chipoya’s campaign as respectful and wished her success as she begins her tenure.

“I want to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Rosemary Chipoya on her victory. She ran a decent and respectful race, and I wish her a successful tenure as she serves our people,” he said.

Although Macky 2 has already conceded defeat and congratulated his opponent, the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is yet to officially announce the final results for the Nchanga parliamentary election.

The musician added that regardless of political differences, everyone ultimately shares the same vision for the constituency.

“I truly believe that deep down, we all want the same thing for Nchanga: progress, unity and development,” he stated.

Macky 2 also delivered a heartfelt message to the people of Nchanga, describing the constituency as more than just a political constituency.

“This place isn’t just a constituency to me. It’s my home, and I will never stop fighting for you,” he wrote.

He concluded his message by urging residents to remain united and optimistic about the future.
“Let’s remain united. Let’s stay strong. Our best days are still ahead of us,” Macky 2 said.

The musician’s message has generated mixed reactions online, with many praising his humility and sportsmanship, while others commended him for accepting the outcome and encouraging supporters to remain peaceful.

His statement comes at a time when election-related discussions continue across the country following Thursday’s polls.

While his political ambitions may have suffered a setback, many supporters believe Macky 2’s influence in community development and youth empowerment will continue beyond electoral politics.
