PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has pledged continued government investment in Chienge District, saying development is the best way to appreciate residents of the area.

Hichilema said the government will continue delivering roads, schools and clinics through increased Constituency Development Fund allocation and central government planning.

“The only best way to show appreciation to our good people of Chienge in Luapula Province is to continue delivering development for them. And this we shall truly continue to do,” Hichilema wrote.

He said the call for more infrastructure “will continue under our increased CDF and Central government planning and implementation.”

Hichilema appealed to voters in Chienge to support his party in the August election so government can “continue developing this part of our country which has lagged behind for many, many years.”

He ended the message in Bemba: “Lesa amipale mwebena Chienge,” meaning “God bless you people of Chienge.”
