The Ceremonial Opening of the First Session of the Fourteenth National Assembly will take place on October 9, 2026, at Parliament Buildings in Lusaka.

Clerk of the National Assembly, LOVENESS MAYAKA says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is expected to deliver an address outlining the Government’s policy direction and priorities for the 2026-2027 period.

Ms. MAYAKA says Members of Parliament will thereafter debate the policy pronouncements contained in the Presidential Address.

She also says the election of Presiding Officers for the Fourteenth National Assembly will be held on October 2, 2026.

This is according to a statement issued to the media by National Assembly of Zambia Director of Public and International Relations ANTHONY MPOLOKOSO.
