The Energy Regulation Board has reduced petroleum pump prices for July 2026, citing lower international oil prices and a stronger kwacha.

In a press release issued by Board Chairperson James Banda, dated June 30, 2026, the ERB said petrol will drop to K26.15 per litre from K27.15, a K1.00 or 3.68 percent decrease. Diesel falls to K28.11 from K32.11, down K4.00 or 12.46 percent.

Kerosene is reduced to K27.95 from K33.91, a K5.60 or 16.51 percent drop. Jet A-1 declines to K29.85 from K36.68, down K6.41 or 17.48 percent.

The regulator said average international prices fell during the review period. Petrol dropped from US$124.24 per barrel to US$105.82 per barrel, diesel from US$155.64 to US$125.65, and Kerosene and Jet A-1 from US$196.56 to US$158.97.

The Zambian kwacha also appreciated marginally against the dollar, moving from K18.42 per US dollar to K18.26 per US dollar.

“The combination of the movement in international oil prices and exchange rate formed the basis for the July 2026 pump prices,” the ERB said.

The new prices take effect at midnight on June 30, 2026, and will remain until the next review.
