Dotcom Zambia, the only small and medium enterprise listed on the alternative market on the Lusaka Securities Exchange (LSE), is slowly reflecting positive performance on the exchange despite being newly listed.

According to a weekly Equity and Economic report seen by the Zambian Business Times-ZBT for the market period ending 7th August, 2026, DotCom Zambia is reported to have been the highest turnover contributor at 73.5%. Further, the report indicates that DotCom Zambia had a volume of shares traded standing at about 387,139 with a market turnover of K9.5 million, equivalent to 502,000 US dollars.

In an exclusive interview with Zambian Business Times, ZBT DotCom Zambia Chief Executive Officer Mawano Kambeu attributed the company’s dominance in market turnover to its initial public offering on the exchange, believed to stand at about 12.3 million.

Kambue noted that the demand for shares in Dotcom Zambia on the market has increased in the last six months, with the overall turnover standing around K35- K40 million. “If you look at the overall turnover in Dotcom Zambia in the last six months, it’s nearing 35 million to 40 million, which means that demand for shares has increased by about three times and that borders down to its secondary trading,” said Kambeu.

He noted that the increase in demand and supply in Dotcoms share is due to the secondary market, which allows investors to request investment in public traded companies.

“What happens with any private traded companies is that we get what are called investor requests to invest, and we respond because that’s our business model, and that then goes down to confidence around where we are going as a company, which in the end creates demand for our shares, leading to price increasing from our initial public offering,” said Kambeu.
