THE construction of Chasefu Boarding Secondary School in Chasefu District, Eastern Province is progressing well.

The works that stalled for several years, resumed following the release of over K140 million by the government.

Chasefu District Commissioner Jimmy Phiri who inspected the ongoing works was accompanied by Council Chairperson Emmanuel Zgambo, among other officers.

Mr Phiri observed that adequate educational facilities are important in creating an environment where learners can attend school consistently and complete their education.

“We are happy with the works so far and it is very encouraging to see progress on this project that once stalled. With such a facility and the free education policy already in place we are confident that more children in our communities will have improved access to education,” he stated.

And Mr Zgambo said the construction of the boarding school is a sign that the district is steadily developing.
