Residents of Chitambo District in Central Province have continued with their normal social and economic activities following the August 13, 2026 General Election.

Some residents interviewed by  the media said the peaceful conduct of the elections has allowed communities to continue with their day-to-day activities without disruptions.

A trader at Chalilo Market, Violet Malama, explained that business has continued as usual, with traders conducting their normal activities before, during and after the elections.

“The situation has remained peaceful throughout the electoral process, allowing us to continue with our livelihoods without disruptions,” she said.

Ms Malama noted that maintaining peace is important for traders and other people whose livelihoods depend on daily business activities.

And a Mukando resident, Lenzy Mwila, observed that people have continued focusing on their livelihoods and other responsibilities despite the electoral activities.

Mr Mwila urged fellow residents to continue maintaining peace and unity regardless of their political affiliation.
