Opposition presidential candidate *Brian Mundubile* and his running mate *Makebi Zulu* drew large crowds of supporters during a campaign roadshow through Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, as political parties intensify campaigns ahead of next month’s general elections.

Hundreds of residents lined the streets and followed the campaign convoy on foot, with many seen walking and running alongside the vehicles while chanting slogans, including *”We Want Change!”* and *”Ayende! Ayende!”—a phrase meaning *”He must go,”* in reference to incumbent President **Hakainde Hichilema*.

The roadshow forms part of the opposition ticket’s two-day campaign programme in Lusaka, culminating in a major campaign rally scheduled for tomorrow before the candidates continue their nationwide tour to other provinces.

Zambia is set to hold general elections on *13 August 2026*, with the contest shaping up as one of the country’s most closely watched political races. The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND), led by President Hichilema, is seeking a second term, while the opposition NRP-UP, backed by the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance, is campaigning on a platform of political and economic change.
