Boris Johnson Condemns Putin After Russian Drone Strike Near His Train in Ukraine
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has strongly condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin after a Russian drone struck railway infrastructure near the Ukrainian-Polish border while Johnson was traveling by train in Ukraine.
Johnson was alerted to the incident at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. He was not evacuated, and his train was not delayed. However, another passenger train near Yahodyn was evacuated after a locomotive was hit. No injuries were reported.
Johnson described the attack as “senseless” and called on Western countries to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses and use frozen Russian assets to support Kyiv.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha also condemned the strikes near the Polish border, warning that Russian attacks are moving dangerously close to the borders of the European Union and NATO.
