12 Signs That HH has lost His Traditional Monopoly on Southern Province & Brian Mundubile is Winning With Above 70% This August

1. Everything is history, it is for the first time that HH is dedicated so many days and weeks to campaign in his home region of Southern province or traditional UPND strongholds like Western and North Western provinces. This week, HH is historically having series of rallies across Southern province. This trend is unusual because UPND has historically been winning big in Southern Province without presidential rallies.
2. Clearly, this Southern Province has now shifted and changed against HH and UPND in general. This year, HH is hosting expensive rallies there because he is aware that UPND is no longer a household party anymore. HH himself is now not enjoying natural political support in Southern, Western and North Western provinces as many UPND ‘die hard’ members and loyalists have abandoned him out of fatigue, disappointment or mistrust.
3. To most observers, it is politically shocking and amusing to see that this year, HH is spending a lot of money and time on lavish rallies in Southern, Western or North Western provinces where he even angrily attacks respected UPND founders like Garry Nkombo, Newton Samakai, Elijah Muchima or Hon. Mubanga. It is the first time in the history of UPND that a party president is openly attacking and fighting fellow senior leaders within UPND.
4. As we speak, UPND is now on real fire, a divided house fighting first themselves and also the opposition in NRPUP and BM both in Southern province and everywhere. This shows that HH is for the first time this year openly fighting his fellow UPND leaders, popular known UPND gurus of the South or West who in the past made him win power.
5. For this first time this year since HH became UPND president in 2006, UPND is facing fierce opposition and competition at parliamentary level across Southern province. While UPND has traditionally won all parliamentary seats in Southern Province, this year, it is clear that Southern Province may historically produce the highest number of independent MPs next month while UPND will politically sink to lower seats in this region.
6. These historic arrogant numbers of independent MPs across Southern Province competing against Mazoka’s party shows that HH has lost political monopoly here and UPND has officially started to walk towards political decline and institutional extinction in its home region.
7. Although UPND has traditionally been the most dominant party particularly in Southern Province since its formation by Anderson Mazoka in 1999, 2026 has proven totally different for them politically. This year, most UPND supporters across Southern Province have shown us that they have multiple candidates to endorse or vote for outside HH and UPND such as independent MPs, legendary Garry Nkombo, NRPUP candidates or Brian Mundubile himself.
8. For more than 20 years, UPND killed political competition with any other political rival in this province by monopolizing abnormal wins to itself and HH only. This year, UPND is frankly fighting for its survival in the province they historically called their permanent home and headquarters.
9. As such, past sitting Presidents such as Levy Mwanawasa, Rupiah Banda, Micheal Sata and Edgar Lungu have all been politically clashed by HH in Southern province with highly shocking margins.
10. While UPND and HH have consistently and traditionally have been winning Southern province with highly abnormal votes than anywhere in Zambia, 2026 is historically presenting a shocking puzzle for UPND because they are fighting multiple political battles, divisions, rivalry and factions in their own region they call ‘stronghold’.
11. In Mazabuka yesterday, HH invested so much time, energy attacking both Garry Nkombo and Brian Mundubile instead of campaigning. This was clear testimony that HH is no longer the only political game in Southern province. Next month, we shall all witness that HH and UPND no longer enjoy any political monopoly or abnormal dominance in Southern Province as they did 27 years ago.
12. Consequently, Brian Mundubile of NRPUP shall be the major beneficiary following the sharp decline of HH and UPND in Southern province. Technically, we see BM winning above 25% in Southern, Western and North Western Provinces while scoring above 70% in Eastern, Muchinga, Northern, Luapula, Copperbelt and Lusaka provinces. Hence, we postulate that this scenario shall likely give Brian Mundubile above 70% national score and triumphant political victory against HH.
If no one is openly telling HH that Southern, Western and North Western provinces have shifted from him to multiple independent candidates like Garry Nkombo or NRPUP’s BM, then let some Good Samaritan share this article with him. Jesus Christ said that “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. This is the truth for HH and UPND for free.
