The Superintendent Reliability is accountable for providing sound Reliability Practice to the Engineering Department. The Superintendent Reliability is responsible to lead the Reliability team in providing the required Process Plant Asset Reliability that supports Operational Availability targets. Ensure that Maintenance Strategies align with Asset Condition and Business Performance requirements; Maintenance Plans align with Maintenance Strategies; and the Process Plant Condition Monitoring Program is effective in defining Asset Condition. Specific Job Responsibilities: As a Reliability Superintendent in First Quantum Minerals – the following are core business expectations: Provide technical, administrative and/ or other support to enable the business to function at optimum efficiency/ effectiveness. Support senior functional and process leaders to deliver expected results and provide a value-adding contribution to the overall effort. Provide a high level of customer service and continue to grow and combine professional learning and experience with work output. Consider safety, environmental and cost impacts when planning and undertaking work. Set team direction aligned with organizational goals. Set direction and pace of the team by translating organizational goals, due to the service nature of the position, build strong and effective collaborative relationships with others internal and external to the department, Build and develop team talent. Provide leadership and mentoring for your subordinates, including ongoing training and development, performance management, conflict management and crisis management. Ensuring the right people are in the right job. Put in place an agreed succession plan for all positions including your own. Discuss the performance with the team members against Reliability KPIs. Develop a capability to provide an internal project and reliability engineering service for the process plant engineering sections. This will include a prioritization system and may require communications with Perth projects. Provide support to the sections for RCA and lead RCA investigations on significant incidents as necessary. Compile and analyze downtime data and use this information to affect the maintenance strategy for the process plant. Coordinate the QA/QC process across the various sections of the process plant. Develop and maintain the data summarizing and reporting tools and new technology implementation strategic plan where applicable. Provide long-term strategies and lifecycle plans for Process Plant Assets. Skills and Abilities Microsoft office Suite Microsoft Project Power BI Pronto Project management Demonstrable experience with maintenance management systems and RCA will be a significant advantage Knowledge and understanding of diverse third world cultures and customs an advantage Key Result Areas – HSEC: Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility by ensuring you personally comply with all Trident and First Quantum Minerals Standards and Procedures. Complete targeted number of Visible Felt Leadership, Stop Think and Coaches and Planned Task Observations per month. Ensure that team members and contractors complete pre-task hazard assessments and permits as required. Ensure that the Contractor Management System is followed for all contractors and ensure that every contractor has the required skills and training to perform the task safely. Assist with regular communication to all staff regarding the engineering Reliability function. Develop strong working relationship with Process and Engineering Team. Key Result Area – Operational Performance Understand copper production process flow (impacts of delays, quality or other issues that might cause delays) and implement maintenance plans to maximise plant output. Assist with preparation of budgetary cost requirements and monitor performance against budget related to the department. Implement improvement initiatives taken from internal and external audits. Review and initiate maintenance recommendations from OEM inspections across the Fixed Plant area. Work with the engineering team to ensure that condition-based monitoring results are interpreted and action within the maintenance schedule and asset- management system. Identification and implementation of improvements to the defect identification and rectification management process. Management of suppliers and contractors relevant to the maintenance activities performed in the Fixed Plant area. Attend and contribute to departmental meetings as required. Ensure Reliability Department is structured in a manner to deliver the best asset management results for the business. Discuss, capture, analyse and implement improvement ideas and suggestions. Define Asset Lifecyle Plans and maintain Asset Maintenance Plans (AMPs) for Process Plant Assets. Ensure Equipment Maintenance Strategies are aligned with Asset Lifecycle Plans and Asset Conditions. Experience & Qualifications: Essential An Engineering degree in a relevant field or significant field experience in Planning and Reliability management Relevant experience with fixed plant processing equipment involved with large scale copper operations. Excellent written and verbal communication. A background in working with maintenance, reliability and/or operations teams in mining applications. 5+ years’ experience in fixed plant maintenance. At least 5 years in a senior supervisory role Desirable Formal Asset Management Qualification 5+ years of relevant experience in a maintenance role.
