Role Overview: Senior Sous Chef in Eastern Zambia Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Senior Sous Chef will play a pivotal role in preparing and presenting a diverse menu that includes gourmet meals, assorted pastries, and authentic Zambian cuisine. This full-time position requires leadership in managing kitchen hygiene, safety, and team collaboration to consistently deliver outstanding culinary experiences. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present a variety of international and traditional Zambian dishes with creativity and precision. Strictly adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures across kitchen activities. Maintain exemplary standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen environment. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and service delivery. Innovate and develop new menu items that align with the company’s culinary standards. Lead, train, and coordinate a team of 4 to 5 assistant chefs across various kitchen sections. Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ proven experience as a chef in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a similar senior role. Comprehensive knowledge of pastries, gourmet dishes, and traditional Zambian cooking techniques. Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high culinary standards. Strong understanding of food costing and portion control. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork. Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen setting.
