School Superintendent

Arise Africa is a faith-based organization serving individuals in Zambia, with a focus on helping them overcome spiritual, economic, and physical poverty so they can become responsible and self-sustaining. The organization primarily serves vulnerable children in Lusaka through full-time residential care in Arise Homes and offering Education at the Arise Schools. Arise Africa operates and supports three schools, providing education, care, and holistic support. The team is committed to equipping, educating, and empowering children and communities to create lasting change in Zambia. Prospective team members will join a mission-driven organization that values compassion, integrity, and sustainable impact. This is a full-time, on-site School Superintendent role based in Lusaka. The School Superintendent will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Arise schools, ensuring high-quality education, alignment with the organization’s mission, and compliance with national education standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising school leadership teams, guiding curriculum implementation, and supporting instructional excellence through coaching, mentoring, and professional development. The role involves overseeing budgeting and resource allocation for schools, monitoring academic performance, and using data to drive continuous improvement. The School Superintendent will also collaborate closely with organizational leadership to foster safe, inclusive, and values-based learning environments for all learners. Qualifications Proven Educational Leadership and Education experience, including leading schools or education programs and supporting diverse student populations of not less than 6 years.(A must) Demonstrated ability in Curriculum Development and Education Reform, with experience designing, implementing, or improving school-wide academic programs. Practical expertise in Budgeting and resource management within an educational setting, ensuring responsible and transparent use of funds. Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; an advanced degree in Education Leadership, Administration, or similar discipline is preferred. Strong skills in staff supervision, coaching, and performance management, including leading cross-functional and multicultural teams. Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with educators, families, communities Experience working in low-resource or community-based school settings is an advantage.
