We are inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Safety Manager. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures. Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and safety audits. Ensure compliance with applicable mining, occupational health and safety legislation. Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions. Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and employee awareness programmes. Maintain accurate safety records and prepare periodic reports for management. Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities. Monitor the correct issuance and use of personal protective equipment. Promote a strong safety culture across all departments. Liaise with regulatory authorities and other relevant stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Mining Safety or a related field. At least three years’ experience in a similar position, preferably within the mining, manufacturing, construction or heavy industrial sector. Sound knowledge of Zambian occupational health, safety and mining legislation. Experience in accident investigation, risk assessment and safety management systems. Strong leadership, communication, analytical and report-writing skills. Relevant professional safety certification will be an added advantage. Must be computer literate. Skills and Competencies Strong leadership and team-management skills. Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and standards. Ability to conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections and safety audits. Strong accident and incident investigation skills. Ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Good communication, presentation and safety training skills.
