Job Title: Purchasing Specialist Job Summary The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing goods and services required for business operations. The role ensures timely procurement of quality products at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships and complying with company procurement policies. Key Responsibilities Source and procure goods and services based on business requirements. Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure cost-effective purchasing. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers. Create and process purchase orders and monitor order status. Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials. Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as required. Evaluate supplier performance and resolve procurement-related issues. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures. Perform other purchasing duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement. Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/procurement systems is an advantage. Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Must be a member of The Zambian Institute of Purchasing and Supply
