Position Title: Marketing Lead Location: Lusaka, Zambia Reports to: Deputy CEO Direct Reports: Marketing & Communications Teams Position Overview The Marketing Lead is responsible for leading Klapton Re’s marketing, branding, and communications strategy to strengthen the company’s market presence, stakeholder engagement, and corporate reputation. Reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, the role focuses on driving strategic marketing initiatives, overseeing corporate communications, coordinating events and brand visibility activities, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking, creativity, and execution excellence, with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills to support Klapton Re’s growth objectives and market positioning. In addition to managing day-to-day marketing activities, the Marketing Lead will support the preparation of strategic presentations and corporate materials for the Executive Committee (EXCO), conferences, client engagements, and key business initiatives. Key Responsibilities 1. Marketing Strategy & Brand Management Develop and implement Klapton Re’s marketing and branding strategy in alignment with corporate objectives. Drive initiatives that enhance the company’s visibility, reputation, and market positioning across all operating regions. Ensure consistency of the Klapton Re brand across all internal and external communication platforms. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for brand growth and differentiation. 2. Corporate Communications Lead internal and external communication initiatives to strengthen stakeholder engagement and brand awareness. Develop communication materials including newsletters, announcements, presentations, reports, and corporate updates. Ensure messaging is professional, aligned, and reflective of the company’s strategic direction. Manage communication strategies for key business announcements, events, and corporate milestones. 3. Digital Marketing & Content Management Oversee the company’s digital presence, including website management and social media platforms. Develop and manage content calendars and marketing campaigns to enhance engagement and visibility. Coordinate the creation of marketing collateral, digital content, and promotional materials. Monitor marketing performance metrics and provide insights to improve campaign effectiveness. 4. Events & Stakeholder Engagement Lead the planning and coordination of conferences, business events, client engagements, and corporate functions. Ensure Klapton Re maintains a strong and professional presence at industry events and networking platforms. Coordinate branding, logistics, and communication requirements for corporate events and sponsorship activities. Support relationship-building initiatives with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. 5. Strategic Presentations & Executive Support Prepare high-quality strategic presentations and communication materials for EXCO and senior management. Support the Deputy CEO with corporate presentations, speeches, and business development materials. Coordinate input from various departments to ensure accurate and impactful reporting and presentations. 6. Budget Management & Reporting Assist in developing and managing the marketing and communications budget. Monitor marketing expenditure and ensure alignment with approved budgets and business priorities. Track marketing initiatives and provide performance reports and recommendations to management. 7. Team Leadership & Development Lead and mentor the Marketing & Communications team to ensure high performance and collaboration. Establish KPIs and monitor team deliverables and performance. Foster creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Identify training and development opportunities to strengthen team capabilities. 8. Process Improvement & Innovation Continuously review and improve marketing processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Introduce innovative marketing approaches and tools to strengthen brand engagement and communication. Ensure marketing activities comply with company policies and corporate standards. Key Competencies Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong presentation and content development skills. Creative thinking with strong attention to detail. Strong organizational and project management capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment. Strong understanding of branding, digital marketing, and corporate communications. An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret marketing performance data. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in corporate communications, event management, and brand management. Experience preparing strategic presentations and executive-level communication materials. Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and content management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing-related tools/software.
